The piece features four dialogues-variations between these two very different in properties and timbres instruments: flute and
percussion.
Program Notes:The piece features four dialogues-variations between these two very different in properties and timbres instruments: flute and
percussion. Starting from the extreme ranges of both (highest flute register and one of the lowest percussion instruments - bass drum),
the piece explores more subtle fields of quiet percussive effects on Alto flute combined with lighter percussion instruments, and
dwells into the sonorous, yet still atmosphere of vibraphone and flute.
The final section brings back the extreme ranges of sounds (this time Piccolo is heard against Bass Drum at first) and
concludes with the subtle melodic motive, perceived as an echo of the serene sonorities from the vibraphone and percussion section.
