“Midsummer Rain” for flute quartet was written for Syrinx flute quartet. It pictures a sudden rain on a sunny summer day, which starts suddenly, brings a lot of excitement to the day and relief on a hot day. The Piccolo Flute acts almost as a soloist, introducing a playful motive. The quartet plays with a lot of textures reminiscent of a rain flow.
